Abstract

1460211 Optic fibre connector; controlling light POST-OFFICE 3 Oct 1975 [4 Oct 1974 30 April 1975] 43156/74 and 18092/75 Headings G2F and G2J A connector to an optic fibre has two plates, 1, 2 biased on to the fibre and a prism 4 to reflect the light output. The light escapes from the fibre only when the surfaces 3 are in contact with it and therefore by vibrating them at a suitable frequency, the light passing down the fibre can be modulated. This may be done electromagnetically.
