Abstract
PURPOSE:To carry out an assembling operation in a quick and accurate way and to increase the positioning efficiency, by fitting a holder which holds an optical element connected with a lead wire and a receptacle into which a plug containing an edge part of an optical fiber is inserted. CONSTITUTION:A master plug 3 to which an edge part of an optical fiber F is previously fixed concentrically with resin 33 is inserted into a hole 21a of a receptacle 2 which is supported by a fixed arm 13. At the same time, an insulated holder 5 containing a terminal 52 is put into a lead wire E2 of an optical element E. A ring 4 adhered to the head part E1 of the element E is made to touch a seat 23 of the receptacle 2 by shifting a mobile arm 17 and then fixed temporarily with an instantaneous adhesive at the position where the reception output of light becomes maximum. The holder 5 is pulled out of the wire E2, and a decorative ring 6 is fitted into the seat 23 and fixed there by injecting an adhesive between the ring 4 and the ring 6. In such way, the assembling operation can be carried out in a quick and accurate way to increase the positioning efficiency.
