Abstract
PURPOSE: The titled sheet having a foamed structure, low density, and high compressibility characteristics, becoming accustomed well to a joint part, and having stable sealing function, obtained by blending a mixture of a rubber material consisting essentially of asbestos fiber, and a rubber compounding chemical with a blowing agent, followed by blending.
CONSTITUTION: A mixture comprising 70W80wt% asbestos fiber (e.g., chrysolite, amosite), 10W20wt% rubber material (preferably styrene-butadiene rubber, natural rubber, is isoprene rubber, etc. swelling in oil), and a small amount of a rubber compounding chemical (e.g., vulcanizing agent such as sulfur, vulcanization accelerator, etc.) is blended with ≤5wt% (≤60wt% based on rubber material) of a blowing agent (preferably, inorganic blowing agent such as ammonium carbonate, sodium bicarbonate, etc., organic blowing agent such as dinitrosopentamethylene-tetramine, 4,4'-oxybis(benzene sulfonyl hydrazide, etc.), heated, rolled, laminated, and molded, to give the desired joint sheet.
USE: A joint of device related to cars, gasket material for cover, pipe, etc.
