Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a radiator of low pressure loss that can be used for space heating as well as space cooling, by employing such an arrangement that one end of a heat pipe is connected to a heat source pipe in the manner that the heat pipe can be located at an air inlet opening or an air outlet opening selectively.
CONSTITUTION: In case of using a radiator 1 for space heating, a heat pipe 4 is connected to a heat source pipe 3 in the manner that it is located at an air outlet opening 7 and hot water is passed through the heat source pipe 3. Resultantly, the heat pipe 4 is operated by hot water in the pipe 3 and transfers heat toward the air outlet port 7, so that heat is transmitted to the air. In case of space heating, on the other hand, the heat pipe 4 is connected to the heat source pipe 3 in the manner that it is located at an air inlet port 6 and cold water is passed through the heat source pipe 3. Resultantly, heat possessed by th e air is transmitted to the cold water through the heat pipe 4, so that a space can be cooled by cool air. Thus, it is enabled to use the radiator 1 for space heating as well as space cooling while reducing pressure loss as small as possible.
