Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent incomplete combustion of a combustion apparatus, by constituting an electrode means for detecting the state of combustion by a body of a burner plate made of ceramics and electrodes having tops located in flame formed at the burner plate section, and controlling the state of combustion by use of a signal given from the electrode means. CONSTITUTION:When a combusting apparatus is ignited, flame is formed at the section of a burner plate 2 made of ceramics, and it is detected by a flame current detecting circuit 6 via flame detecting electrodes 4a, 4b. Further, a contact 7 is closed by a control circuit 8, and the state of combustion is checked by the flame detecting 4a and the ceramic burner plate 2. Here, if incomplete combustion takes place, temperature on the surface of the burner plate 2 is lowered and the value of resistance of the burner plate 2 is increased considerably. Further, since the value of flame current detected by the electrode 4a and the burner plate 2 is lowered, the flame current detecting circuit 6 detects low temperature on the surface of burner plate 2, and a control circuit 8 produces a fuel supply stopping instruction for stopping combustion of the apparatus.
