Abstract

PURPOSE: To accuately adjust the time of fuel injection, by using a driving power source separate from an internal combustion engine, to drive a hydraulic pump for supplying working oil to a hydraulic actuator connected to the engine and a fuel injection pump.
CONSTITUTION: A hydraulically-controlled device 1 for adjusting the time of fuel injection comprises a first member 101 which is driven by an engine, a second member 102 connected to a fuel injection pump P and a hydraulic actuator 103 which makes a rotational phase difference between the first and the second members. A hydraulic pump 9 for supplying working oil to the hydraulic actuator 103 is driven by an exclusive electric motor 11. A time adjuster 22 modifies the time of starting of action of a timer 18 depending on the temperature T1 of the external air and that T2 of the working oil. According to this constitution, the hydraulic actuator 103 is smoothly operated to accurately adjust the time of fuel injection even if the viscosity of the working oil is extremely high as at the starting of the engine in the cold state.
