Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent any variation of fuel air ratio due to vibrations of a carburetor with an air valve by operatively connecting a damper device including magnetic fluid and a magnet to the valve of the carburetor.
CONSTITUTION: A throttle valve 3, a main nozzle 16 and an air valve 4 are provided in an air horn 5 of a carburetor body 1. A jet needle 12 is operatively connected to the air valve 4 so as to regulate fuel supply from a float chamber 13 into a main nozzle 16 through a fuel jet 14. A piston 19 is connected to a lever 7 operatively connected to the air valve 4 and is disposed for sliding motion within a cylinder 17. Magnetic fluid 21 is filled in the cylinder 17 and a magnet 22 is secured to the top of the cylinder 17 so that the piston 19 may be subject to a damping action caused by the magnetic fluid 21 and the magnet 22.
