Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent any variation of fuel air ratio due to vibrations of a carburetor with an air valve by providing the carburetor with a damping flange which is located in fuel and is secured to a jet needle operatively connected to the air valve of the carburetor.
CONSTITUTION: A throttle valve 3, a main nozzle 11 and an air valve 4 are provided in an air horn 5 of a carburetor body 1. A jet needle 9 is operatively connected to the air valve 4 and extends into a fuel jet 14 such that fuel in a float chamber 12 is jetted from the main nozzle 11 through the fuel jet 14. A cylinder 16 is dipped in fuel in the float chamber 12, and a flange 17 in the form of a piston secured to the needle 9 is disposed for sliding motion within the cylinder 16 so that the needle 9 may be subject to a damping action caused by the flange 17.
