Abstract

PURPOSE:To make the detection of the inflow of an org. solvent into a liquid discharge pipe made of plastics possible by providing water discharge pipe parts having such a recess where waste liquid accumulates temporarily and detecting the elongation or contraction and temp. rise of the piping materials in this part. CONSTITUTION:The elongation or contraction and temp. rise of waster discharge pipes 5, 6 are detected with, for example, a strain gage R0 affixed to the waster discharge pipes. A constant voltage power source E0 is applied and a variable resistor RX is regulated to make the potential difference between A and B zero. When a fluctuation is produced in the R0, a potential difference is produced between the A and B, and this is amplified with an amplifier 1. If there is the fluctuation more than the existing potential difference, it is put out to a driving amplifier 2; at the same time, an alarm buzzer 3 operates and an alarm lamp 4 lights. The strain gage R0 is affixed by means of adhesives to the part coupled to the pipes 5, 6 at 7, particularly, the part 8 which is reduced of wall thickness to permit easy elongation and contraction deformations. A pipe larger in diameter than the pipes 5, 6 is used for the 7 to allow the liquid having influence to accumulate easily, so as to accumulate the waste liquid temporarily in the part having a difference in wall thickness between both.
