Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the distortion of a waveform, the characteristics of high frequency response and the quenching ratio by a light emitting diode drive means connecting the light emitting diode as the load of a transistor brought to a bias condition at all times and a bias current supply means feeding bias currents. CONSTITUTION:The light emitting diode 1 is connected as the load at the collector side of the transistor (TR)2, and an emitter is grounded. The emitter voltage of the TR2 is fed back to an input terminal of an operational amplifier 5 through a resistor 4. The operational amplifier 5 has a signal input terminal 6 and a bias voltage input terminal 7. Predetermined voltage is applied to the bias voltage input terminal, the bias currents 8 flow through the collector of the TR2, and the transistor is brought to an active condition at all times. Signal currents 9 corresponding to signal voltage applied to the signal input terminal 6 are added. The bias current supply circuit 10 is connected to the TR2. Accordingly, the distortion of the waveform, the characteristics of high frequency response and the quenching ratio are improved.
