Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a thin air electrode performing heavy-load discharge further providing leak-proof of liquid, by holding a perfluoro compound in an electrode main unit. CONSTITUTION:Perfluoro compound of perfluorotri-ni-butylamine (FC43), perfluorotripropylamine (FTPA), perfluorodecalin (FDC), perfluoromethyldecalin (FMD), perfluorinated ether (FreonE4), etc. is held in an air electrode main unit. For instance, active carbon powder is applied with adsorption treatment by solution of perfluorodecalin carbon tetrachloride to form catalytic powder, then dispersion of polytetrafluoroethylene resin is mixed as a binding agent to the above, kneaded and spread to obtain a sheet. This sheet is laminated under pressure to a nickel net to obtain the air electrode main unit. A water repellent layer is laminated to said electrode main unit to obtain an air electrode.
