Abstract

PURPOSE: To make it possible to perform accurate printing on recording paper having a specified width by using an endless type belt which accommodates types, by arranging a plurality of type lines in parallel on the type belt and shifting the type lines in the direction perpendicular to the type lines.
CONSTITUTION: Frames 15 and 16 hold pulleys 10 and 11 and are shifted in the direction perpendicular to the type lines together with the type belt 1 in response to the rotation of a shift motor 23. Meanwhile, printing hammers 2, whose number is the same as the number of the printing digits in one printing line, are arranged at the opposite positions to the types of the type belt 1, with the same interval as the interval between the printing digits being provided. When a electromagnet 22 is selectively energized, the printing hammer 21 flies to the surface of the type in the type belt 1, and hits the surface of the type through ink ribbon 48. Thus the printing is performed.
