Abstract
PURPOSE:To vary the size of a character to be printed if necessary by a method wherein an angle of a recording head with respect to its moving direction is varied in a dot recording device having a recording head provided with a plurality of dot recording elements. CONSTITUTION:A thermal head TH having heater elements TH1-TH20 on a linear line is made such that it is rotated up to the positions of the marks a', b' or c' as a rotary member 25 is manually rotated by a knob 26. When the thermal head TH is placed either on the inclined positions b' or c', the heater elements TH1- TH20 are driven in sequence with a specified displaced minute time in response to an inclination angle of the heater. Thereby, it is possible to print a character having a smaller size than that when the thermal head is not inclined, i.e. a condition a'. These driving circuits are provided with a circuit for changing an drive timing for the heater element in response to a character size signal, a carriage feeding control part for controlling a width of character and a voltage control circuit for keeping a recording concentration of each of the characters constant.
