Abstract

PURPOSE: To completely separate out a gas remaining in a high-viscosity liquid fluidized through gas agitation, by heating the liquid under a reduced pressure.
CONSTITUTION: The high-viscosity liquid, for example a heavy oil, fluidized by a gas agitation device 3 in a storage tank 1 is fed under pressure by a feed pump 6 into a tank 7 for separating the residual gas via an introducing port 11 for the agitated liquid. The liquid fed under pressure is guided to the inside wall 8 of the tank 7 by a dispersing plate 14 provided below the port 11. The inside wall 8 is heated through a jacket 9, so that the liquid flows down while being heated. In this case, the interior of the tank 7 is constantly maintained at a reduced pressure by a vacuum pump 12 provided at an upper part 10 of the tank 7. Accordingly, the residual gas in the liquid is effectively separated out, while the liquid is collected at a bottom part 15 of the tank 7 and is transferred into an intermediate tank 19. In addition, the interior of the tank 19 is shielded from the outside air by a valve 23, and is maintained at the same pressure as that inside the tank 7 by opening a valve 21.
