Abstract

PURPOSE:To lock and unlock a folding seat for a box-shaped vehicle such as a van in connection with the closing and opening of a rear leg and maintain the folded state of the seat despite the backward action of excessive load, by providing a lockup mechanism which is coupled to the rear leg by a connecting member and functions to maintain the folded state. CONSTITUTION:The back 2 of a seat is supported so that the back can be folded. The front part of a seat cushion 1 is rotatably supported with a hinge 20. A rear leg 29 is provided so that it can be opened and closed. A lockup pin 25 is supported on an upper hinge bracket 20a and a lower hinge bracket 20b is provided with an engaging stoppage hole 28 and a guide groove 27 for guiding the lockup pin 25, so that a folded state lockup mechanism 23 is constructed. The lockup mechanism 23 and the rear leg 29 are connected to each other by a coupling wire 31 so that the lockup mechanism 23 is unlocked and locked in connection with the opening and closing of the rear leg.
