Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a heat-sensitive recording material wherein the running performance of a thermal head is excellent, and deposition on the head, a sticking phenomenon, and pressure coloring are prevented, by incorporating a specified aromatic amide compound in a heat-sensitive coloring layer. CONSTITUTION:To a heat-sensitive coloring layer containing a colorless or light- colored leuco dye (e.g., Crystal Violet Lactone) and an acidic mateial or a phenol compound which reacts with said dye to develop a color when heated (e.g., bisphenol A), compound of formulaI(where R1 is C1-30 alkyl; R2 is C1-5 alkyl), e.g., stearyl (p-methoxycarbonyl)benzoylamide, and if necessary, a higher glycol of formula II (where R3 is C10-30 alkyl) are added. It is desirable that each 0.1- 5pts.wt. compounds of formulasIand II with respect to 1pts.wt. said dye is used. Said heat-sensitive coloring layer is formed on a supporting body of paper or the like.
