Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce the loss of phosphor and form a phosphor layer of high uniformity on the inner surface of a glass bulb, by blowing blowing a certain quantity of charged phosphor powder into the bulb together with an air flow after closing tightly the bulb and decompressing the inside of the bulb. CONSTITUTION:A glass bulb 2 for a fluorescent lamp is supported by a supporter, and closed tightly with rubber stoppers 3, 4 including leading-in pipes 11 in their centers. The leading-in pipe 11 of one rubber stopper 3 is connected to a vacuum pump 7 through a cock 5 and a trap 6, and the leading-in pipe 11 of the other rubber stopper 4 is connected to a powder particle charger 8, a cock 9 and a phosphor supply device 10 supplying quantitatively phosphor powder 12. The inside of the bulb 2 is decompressed by a vacuum pump 7, the phosphor powder 12 measured by the supply device 10 and staying in the leading-in pipe 11 is sent into the bulb 2 by an air flow while being charged when it is passing through the charger, and the inner surface of the bulb is coated with phosphor powder. Thereby, the loss of phosphor can be reduced, and further, a phosphor layer of high uniformity can be formed.
