Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the strength of an element and to improve sealing property by expanding opening end of a cup shaped solid state electrolytic element, and keeping said part by a tubular insulator wherein heater wire is embeded in a hermitically sealing mode. CONSTITUTION:On the entire surface of the cup shaped, solid state electrolytic element 1 whose one end is opened and other end is closed, a reference electrode 2 is formed. At the external closed part of the element 1, a measuring electrode 3 is formed. A lead wire 5 is formed along the part from the closed part to the open part of the element 1. At the closed end of the element 1 including the electrode 3, a porous diffused resistance layer 5, which also serves as an electrode protecting layer and comprises high temperature, stable, electric insulating metal oxide, is provided. A tapered annular seat member 10a is provided at the upper part of the inner surface of the tubular insulator 10 which has the coil shaped heater wire 10d in the inside. An annular expanded part 7 of the element 1 is supported by said seat part 10a and both are compressed by pushing the opening hole of the element 1 in the hermetically sealing mode.
