Abstract

The two capacitor electrodes are each provided with a connecting terminal, and between at least one electrode and its terminal is mounted a fuse in a metal or insulating sleeve, surrounding conventionally the capacitor. Preferably the sleeve is formed by a plastics casing cast round the capacitor, and the fuse is embedded into the cast. Preferably the sleeve is of cylindrical shape, closed at the ends by lids of insulating material. In such case the fuse is mounted between one capacitor electrode and the inner end of a lead wire brought through the closing lid. Between the capacitor electrode faces and the closing lid may be inserted an insulating disc, holding and protecting the fuse.
