Abstract

CONSTITUTION:At the shoulder part 10a of the element 10 which is made of oxygen-ion conductive material and has a container-shaped form with the shoulder part 10a formed so that the outside diameter thereof in the vicinity of an opening part is larger than that of the tip part thereof and with electrode layers 10b and 10c formed on the inside and outside surfaces thereof, a lead metal fitting 11 for the outside electrode, having a plate-shaped take-out part contacting with the outside shape of the shoulder part 10a is provided. On the outside of the lead metal fitting 11 for the outside electrode, an insulation pipe 14 with a shoulder part for fixation to the housing 17 and with an element engaging part 14b formed is provided, while on the inside thereof, an inside insulation pipe 13 having an air introduction hole is provided so as to fix the element 10. Moreover, the metal fitting 11 is joined to the protection cover 18, on the outside of the protection cover 18 the housing 17 is provided, and the outside insulation pipe 14 is fixed by calking the end part of the housing.
