Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide an anodic oxidized film having excellent electrical, mechanical and chemical propertied, by adding a silane compound to an electrolyte for anodic oxidation of an Al base metal.
CONSTITUTION: A silane compound resented by the formula where R1 is CH2= CH-, NH2-, SH- or the like, and R2 is -OCH3, -OC2H5, -OCOCH3, -Cl or the like is added to various electrolytes for anodic oxidation of Al or an Al alloy. The addition amount is about 0.1W15wt%, based on the electrolyte. On the surface of Al or an Al alloy thus anodic oxidized, there are formed fine pores, in which the silane compound is hydrolyzed to a silanol compound to be adsorbed and, which are filled with the silanol compound. Thus, the electrical insulating propertied, heat resistance and chemical resistance of Al or an Al alloy are markedly improved.
