Abstract

PURPOSE:To continuously desulfurize spheroidal graphite cast iron with better yields by specifically designating the flowing height and depth of molten metal from cupola and the addition radius of a desulfurizing agent for a kettle-shaped ladle into which an inert gas is flowed from the center of its bottom. CONSTITUTION:When molten metal is dropped from the tapping hole 9 of a cupola 8 onto the center of a ladle 1, the molten metal stagnates until leveled with an outlet port 5, where the depth f of the molten metal M is designated to be 1.2-1.7 times the inside diameter d of the ladle 1.
