Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain an optional tape speed without time delay, by shifting the offset level of a DC amplifier, which amplifies a phase error voltage between a reference clock and a reproduced clock, by using a D/A converter. CONSTITUTION:The phase of a reference clock from an input terminal 1 and that of a reproduced clock from a clock detection part 6 are compared with each other by a phase comparator 2, and the resulting phase error voltage is amplified by a DC amplifier 8. A DC motor 10 is driven by its output to control a run of a magnetic tape. Then, the offset level of the DC amplifier 8 is shifted by a D/A converter 13. For this purpose, when the frequency of the reference clock is varied in order to vary the running speed of the magnetic tape, the DC amplifier 8 generates a corresponding output voltage instantaneously, setting an optional tape speed without time delay.
