Abstract

PURPOSE:To increase not only the stability but the linearity and the responsiveness for a digital servo system, by inserting a phase compensating digital filter into a servo loop. CONSTITUTION:When a shift command pulse is supplied to a position counter 1, the output of the counter 1 is compared with the output of a speed counter 8 through an error arithmetic device 2. With this difference of outputs, a pulse duration modulating circuit 3 works. Thus the difference of outputs is converted into the current by a power amplifier 4. Then a servomotor 5 turns, and the output of a pulse encoder 6 is converted into the positive and negative shift pulses by a pulse decoder 7. The counter 1 performs a count-up or count-down action according to the positive or negative state of the shift command pulse. The gain of a comparatively high frequency region that affects the stability of system is suppressed; while the gain of a comparatively low frequency region that has no contribution to the stability is increased. Then a speed loop phase compensating digital filter 9 is connected with a current loop phase compensating digital filter 10. Thus both the linearity and the responsiveness are improved.
