Abstract
PURPOSE: To improve the condensation heat transfer performance of a plate-type condenser to a large extent by a method wherein a smaller-sized condenser than the main body of a condenser is provided unitedly with or independently from the main body in the discharge route between the condensed liquid discharge port of the main body of the condenser and a tank for the condensed liquid.
CONSTITUTION: The vapor from a supply port 6' flows, branching off, into each vapor stream inside a small-sized condenser C' and is cooled by the cooling water from a cooling water supply port 7' to condense into liquid. The condensate liquid thus produced flows down along the surface of a plate together with the condensate liquid from a condenser C and, being discharged from a discharge port 6' and through a discharge pipe 12, is stored in a tank 11. By the presence of the small- sized condenser C', the vapor not completely condensed in the condenser C is further condensed naturally and, in addition, the back-flow vapor from the tank 11, which is the faulty product of this kind of condenser so far, is also removed completely in the condenser C', thus giving no influence to the condenser C at all. In this way, the improvement, through it is so simple, makes the performance of condensation heat transfer much better.
