Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable to feed condensate smoothly, by providing a condensate reservoir in a passage extended from a condensate purifying means to a second hot well, and communicating the top of the condensate reservoir with a condenser. CONSTITUTION:A first hot well 3 and a second hot well 9 are formed at the bottom of a condenser 2, and a condensate reservoir 11 is disposed near the condenser 2. The condensate reservoir 11 is connected at its top to a heat exchanger 7 and at its bottom to the second hot well 9 in the condenser 2. An inlet port 13 of the condensate reservoir 11 is located at such a height that the pressure in the system is kept always higher than the saturation pressure of condensate while taking transient operational conditions into consideration. Further, the condensate reservoir 11 is communicated with the condenser 2 via a balance pipe 12. Therefore, condensate discharged from the first hot well 3 can be recovered smoothly into the second hot well 9 even if pressure in the system is lowered abruptly due to abnormal stoppage of a circulating pump 4 or by other cause.
