Abstract

PURPOSE: To promote nuclear boiling and enhance the coefficient of heat transfer by a method wherein a plurality of grooves are provided on the heat-transmitting surfaces of those heat-transmitting plates of a collision jet type plate-type evaporator against which a jet of vapor collides, the grooves being concentric with respect to the center of the collision.
CONSTITUTION: A plurality of circular grooves 19, 26 are provided on the heat- transmitting surfaces of the heat-transmitting plates 1, 2 in a concentric manner with respect to the center of collision of the vaporated liquid jetted from jetting holes 5 of a jetting plate 3. The jets of the evaporated liquid jetted from the jetting holes 5 spread on the plate 2 while transversing the grooves 26 toward the peripheral part. The grooves 26 work so as to promote the boiling nucleus formation, so that a large number of vapor bubbles are produced at the grooves 26, the bubbles are separated while the liquid spreads outward and the bubbles move upward, while promoting the formation. If the centers of the grooves 16, 26 on the plates 1, 2 are staggered from each other, collision points are formed at the bottom parts of the grooves so that a turbulence of a heating fluid is generated in the heating space. Accordingly, the rate of heat transfer is enhanced by the promotions of the nuclear boiling and of turbulence.
