Abstract

PURPOSE: To push up the flow of wind and reduce wind load on the titled device by installing windbreak walls and deflection plates on an upper surface of a breakwater in the titled device to be employed in a marine oil storage base.
CONSTITUTION: A windbreak device consists of windbreak walls 11 fixed to the upper surface of a breakwater 1 and deflection plates 12; the windbreak walls 11 are composed of vertical wall sections 13 fastened to the breakwater 1 and inclined wall sections 14. On the other hand, the deflection plates 12 are arranged at the tank 2 side closer to the windbreak walls 11, their lower ends are secured to the breakwater 1 so as to adjoin to the lower ends of the windbreak walls 11, and they are upwardly inclined at the tank 2 side. Thus, since a flow of a wind can be pushed up and a load functioning to the windbreak device is also decreased, the whole windbreak device can be miniaturized, and a mooring device can also be miniaturized.
