Abstract

PURPOSE:To simply and easily grind a drill having a small diameter by a method wherein a measurement of a drill edge point position and a setting of cut depth quantity are performed and then, the drill is rotated in synchronizing with the quantity of the cut depth by means of a micro pulse motor, when the tip of a drill having twist with respect to a rotation axis direction is ground. CONSTITUTION:A drill 1 set in a chuck 1d is fed forward until its tip comes in contact with a tip point reference part 5 and a relative position of the tip 1 to a grind stone 2 is determined, and next threrto, a micro head 7 is moved and adjusted so that a counter display unit 8 may indicate 0 to set a working starting point and thereafter, an adjustment is performed so that the drill tip may be parallel to the movement direction of a table 4 to move the table 4 to the C direction and the micro-head is fed forward until the counter 6 may have a required quantity of the cut depth. Next, the table 4 is moved so that the drill tip may hit the grind stone 2. Then, the drill 1 is inverted and a grinding is performed in the same manner. With this, even a drill having a small diameter can be simply and easily ground.
