Abstract

The device is for a burning or cutting machine over the curved outer surface of a workpiece, dependent upon a probe investigating the workpiece surface, and has the probe (21) rotating around a shaft (14) and movable along it, and capable of being retained in a probing position against the workpiece surface (24). The burner (19) is connected to the probe (2) so that it performs the same movements as the probe (21), but when the probe rotates around the shaft (14), it hastens through an angle of about 30 relative to the probe. The advanceable shaft (14) is driven by a motor (17) and carries the burner (19) on an arm (18) capable of radial movement. The probe (21) is on a bearer (20) which is movable in a constant probing position by means of a motor (11). The probe movement extent is transmitted by a feeder (27) which acts as control for the burner shaft motor (17).
