Abstract

NEW MATERIAL:Aminobenzoic acid derivatives of the formula (R1 is acylated monothrough trisaccharide residue; R2 is H, lower alkyl, medically permissible metal).
EXAMPLE: 0-Aminobenzoic methyl ester-N-O-acetyl-D-mannoside.
USE: Hypoglycemic, hypotensor, antiarteriosclerotic, antitumorigenic, central nervous system depressant, anti-inflammatory: they are extremely low-toxicity and exert no effect on antibiotic, mutagenetic and immune properties. Therefore, such high safety enables the long-term administration.
PREPARATION: For example, the reaction of a saccharide with aminobenzoic acid or its ester is conducted in a solvent in the presence of a catalyst, preferably acetic acid. Then, the product is made to react with an acylating agent such as an acid anhydride in an anhydrous organic solvent so give the compound of the formula.
