Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent a sudden S/N deterioration in a minute range of the input electric power in comparison with an envelope system, by demodulating the stereo signal by the synchronous wave detection system using no + or -pi/4 phase shifter. CONSTITUTION:The output of the VCO4 is applied to the synchronous phase wave detector 6 which detects the phase modulation component of the output of the limiter 2. On the other hand, the output sinwct of the VCO4 has a shift deflected by 90 deg. to the AM stereo signal es(t) and is thus shifted by 90 deg. by the phase shifter 7. Thus the signal of cosphi with a synchronous phase detection is obtained from the output of the detector 6. The signal cosphi is then applied to the subtractor circuit 8 to give a subtraction to the IF output es(t), and thus only the amplitude modulation signal component is delivered from the circuit 8. This signal is put into the synchronous detection circuits 9 and 10 to receive a synchronous detection by sinwct and coswct and then applied to the matrix circuit 11 for demodulation.
