Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the temperature characteristics of the resonance frequency for a quartz oscillator, by shaping the surfaces of both the +Z' and -Z' faces of a tuning fork type quartz oscillator. CONSTITUTION:The frequency is measured at the frequency temperature measuring parts 15, 16 and 17 for both the flexion oscillation mode and the twist oscillation mode. These data are read into a computer. Then the quartz stand 20 is turned, and thus the oscillator 18 is masked by the mobile shutters 11 and 12 plus the mobile masks 26 and 27. The vapor deposition is broken at the masked area. When the evaporation sources 9, 10, 23 and 24 are heated up, the frequency control is started. At the same time, the frequency is measured through the signal line 21 for both the flexion and twist oscillation modes. When these frequencies reach the prescribed levels, the mobile shutters 25 and 26 close to complete the control.
