Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve timepiece precision by varying the frequency of a quartz oscillating circuit by reading temperature compensation data in response to the output of a temperature sense oscillator. CONSTITUTION:The output of quartz oscillating circuit 2 is frequency-divided 4 to drive 6 hand system time display unit 10. In response to the frequency division output, temperature sense oscillator 22 is brought under control 20 to oscillate intermittently and when its oscillation output is counted up to a fixed value, a signal is generated 24. Then, temperature compensation data in ROM28 supplied with the frequency division output as an address are latched 30 in accordance with the signal generated 24 and in response to the latch output, electronic switch 12 of oscillating circuit 2 is turned on-off, varying the oscillation frequency.
