Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the temperature characteristics of an electronic watch by forming a time standard signal using a composite resonator made of the same crystal peices.
CONSTITUTION: A resonance circuit and an amplifier are connected to a composite resonator made of the same crystal pieces to form a crystal oscillator 1201 as a time standard signal source. The period of this output is converted to a timing unit signal of a watch by a counting unit signal synthesizer 1202, and the unit signals are counted by a counting mechanism 1203 to thereby form a time information. This information is displayed on a display mechanism 1203. Such a standard signal source can selectively add and synthesize the portions of preferred temperature characteristics of the resonators with excellent temperaure characteristics. Since the steps in a watch is adjusted by a control mechanism provided in the circuit 1202, it does not affect the temperature characteristics. Thus, it can provide an electronic watch having preferable temperature characteristics.
