CONSTITUTION: A crystal oscillator having flat temperature characteristics is formed using a composite resonance circuit having a plurality of crystal vibrators having different temperature characteristics as a time standard signal source 701. A counting unit signal synthesizer 702 converts the frequency of the output signal from the source 701 according to the output signal from an external operation mechanism 705. Then, the output from the synthesizer 702 displays the time through a counter mechanism 703 on a display mechanism 704. When thus formed, the steps can be adjusted by the external operation mechanism 705 in a synthesizer 702 after the source 701. Accordingly, it does not lose the temperature characteristics of the source 701 for controlling the steps of the watch.
