Abstract

PURPOSE: To eliminate extraneous feel of display by rewriting the content of a display register only when the difference between the output of a vehicle speed counter and the content of the display register exceeds a permissible range, and making the display 0 when the intervals of vehicle speed pulses are above predetermined time.
CONSTITUTION: The output 102 of a vehicle speed counter 12 and the content 103 of a display register 14 are compared in a hysteresis processing circuit 18, and only when the difference of both is not within a permissible range, a difference existence signal 104 is outputted, and a latch signal 106 is applied via an AND gate 24 to a display register 14, so that the content of the display register 14 is rewritten according to the output 102 of the vehicle speed counter 12. On the other hand, vehicle speed pulses 100 and an initial set signal 108 are being inputted as reset signals to a time counter 52, and the time counter 52 is counting clock pulses 109 only during the generation intervals of the vehicle speed pulses 100. When the count value 110 exceeds a predetermined value, the zero display output 105 of a bistable multivibrator 54 goes to 1, and the display register 14 and vehicle speed counter 12 are made forcefully 0.
