Abstract
PURPOSE:To perform a secure and less expensive flame current detection without being influenced by the movement of the flame, thereby enabling an easy and instant extinguishment of the burner by the use of a flame holder incorporated within a burner body. CONSTITUTION:At a strong power setting, a flame current flows from the periphery of the flame holder 21 to the opening periphery of an inner cylinder 9 by the rectifying effect of a burning flame. The flame current is detected, and on the basis of the detection result, it is determined that a normal combustion is being performed. On the other hand, at a weak power setting, even if the combustion flame retires in a certain state, the flame current flows from a rod 23 coupled with the flame holder 21 to the inner cylinder 9 by the rectifying effect of the burning flame. Thus, the normal burning is detected. To the contrary, when the flame is too small or the flame is extinguished by air blowing or the like, no flame current can be detected. In accordance with the detected result of the flame current detecting circuit, the power supply to the electromagnetic pump and the other electric instrument are interrupted.
