Abstract
PURPOSE:To promote the surface hardness of a friction face and unify the torque characteristic in an electromagnetic clutch by using a friction plate of magnetic materials such as stainless steel or the like for reducing the residual magnetism. CONSTITUTION:When an exciting coil 2 is off, an armature 12 is shifted to the right by a leaf spring 13, and a lining 10 frictional in each face and the armature 12 are faced to each other with a gap (g) between, without transmitting any power. Meanwhile, when the exciting coil is on, a magnetic flux is given in a magnetic path, and the armature 12 is shifted to make contact with the lining 10 for transmitting power. For the above-said armature 12, ferrite or maltensite stailess steel is used after being given a soft nitriding process or the like.
