Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a gold alloy with a self-hardening property by adding one or more of each specific amount of Pb, Pt, Co, and Ni to a base alloy consisting of specific composition of Au, Ag, and Cu.
CONSTITUTION: To a base alloy consisting of 50W70wt% of Au, 15W20wt% of Ag and 15W20wt% of Cu, at least one of 1W3wt% of Pd, 1W3wt% of Pt, 0.1W1wt% of Co, and 0.1W1wt% of Ni is selectively added. The selection and weight ratio of these additive metals are determined by design of the degree of self-hardening acceleration, color tone adjustment, and improved corrosion resistance.
