Abstract

PURPOSE:To make possible the formation of a good paint film without dechromate treatment by applying a coating type chromate treatment liquud on the surface of plate of zinc, zinc plated steel or the alloy thereof treated by chromate with adjust- ment thereof by an acid solution. CONSTITUTION:The surface of a plate of zinc, zinc plated steel or the alloy thereof treated by chromate is treated by normal inorganic acid, preferably the solution of phosphoric acid to effect etching and at the same time, to improve hydrophillic property. After the removal of liquid left on the surface and washing of the surface, water attached is removed. Thereafter, a coating type chromate treatment liquid of water system is applied evenly on the surface. Upon the drying of the coated plate, paint can be applied thereon, thereby forming a coated film with a proper adhesivity and corrosion resistance.
