Abstract
PURPOSE:To provide the titled material having one kind of a specified composition, e.g., consisting of ZrF4, BaF2, NaF and AlF3 and having a light transmissive window of low loss even in the about 2-6mum wavelength zone. CONSTITUTION:The titled material has one kind of a composition selected from a group composed of composition (a) consisting of, by mol, 30-70% ZrF4, 10-40% BaF2, 0-40% NaF and 1-15% AlF3, (b) of 30-70% ZrF4, 10-40% BaF2, 0-40% NaF, 1-15% NdF2 and 0-20% YF3, (c) of 30-70% ZrF4, 10-40% BaF2, 0-40% NaF, 1-12% LaF3 and 0-20% YF3, (d) of 30-70% ZrF4, 10- 40% BaF2, 0-40% NaF and 1-15% CeF2, (e) of 30-70% ZrF3, 10-40% BaF2, 0-40% NaF and 1-13% GdF2 and (f) of 30-70% ZrF3, 10-40% BaF2, 0-40% NaF and 1-15% LuF3. Since the above-mentioned fluorides are used, this material settles the problem of toxicity.
