Thus, space distances between both end faces of the travelling part of coupling 3, between hubs 6 and 7, and between bearings 11a and 12 are measured, and the distance between shafts 1 and 2 and the inclination degree of shafts 1 and 2 for the travelling part of coupling 3 are detected from these measured values, and the abnormal state is monitored continuously.
