Abstract
PURPOSE:To perform superior welding with stability, by combining and using steel wires of prescribed composition when using the mixed gas of argon and oxygen that contains oxygen at high concentration, as shielding gas. CONSTITUTION:When strongly oxidative mixed gas of argon and oxygen containing 20-75vol% oxygen is used as shielding gas, as welding wires a steel wires of following composition is used. Namely, the steel wire contains <=1% C, 0.2-2% Si, 1.7-25% Mn, and 0.05-1% Ti and further contains <=2% one or more kinds among >=0.1% Al, >=0.01% Mg and >=0.01% Zr, as total amount. The volume rate of gaseous nitrogen in said mixed gas of argon and oxygen is favorably held at <=1%. Further, said gas favorably contains 0.001-10% methane. Furthermore, said steel wire favorably contains <=5% Mo and >=25% one or more kinds among Cr, Ni, Co, and W.
