Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve a protective function making speedy in a response of a feed back by a method wherein a time constant circuit turned to a factor of lag of the response in a protection circuit is removed. CONSTITUTION:An output voltage or current is detected to be compared with a reference voltage 9 and amplified and a signal thereof is fed as an input to a pulse width modulator 5 to control the output. When the output is shorten, it is detected by a detecting resistor 16 and when it becomes higher than the reference voltage 9, an output from a voltage comparator 21 reaches a high level to effect turning a switch 22 on, discharging rapidly the electric charge of a condenser 23, falling rapidly the voltage, turning the pulse width of the pulse width modulator 5 to zero and turning also the output itself to zero. Due to this, the voltage of the resistor 16 is made zero to cause the output of the comparator 21 to come down to a low level, the switch element 22 to be turned off to raise the voltage of the condenser 23 and the pulse width of the modulator 5 also to be increased starting from zero, and when the output reaches a predetermined value again the same operations are to be repeated. These operations made an excess current protection circuit with the quick response characteristic.
