Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a circulator which is inexpensive and facilitates operation frequency adjustment without necessity of replacing ferrite itself, by inserting a metallic plate and dielectric plate between the internal wall of a waveguide and the ferrite and by varying their thickness. CONSTITUTION:In the height direction of ferrite 2 in waveguide 1, metallic plate 3 (of t2 in thickness) and dielectric plate 4 (of t1 in thickness) are inserted (providing that T1=a constant and t1+t2=T2=a constant) and combinations of their thicknesses are changed. Comparing operation center frequencies of the waveguide type circulators when one end is short-circuited and the other is opened and when both ends are short-circuited, the highest frequency is obtained with both the ends shorted, so that the operation frequency adjustment can be made by combining thicknesses of metallic plate 3 and dielectric plate 4.
