Abstract
PURPOSE:To extend the solderable temp. range of an Sn-Pb solder alloy of a high Sn content, lower the voids and enhance the high temp. creep strength by adding a small amount of Ag to the alloy. CONSTITUTION:This solder alloy material for joining stainless steel pipes is obtd. by adding 0.5-1.2wt% Ag to an Sn-Pb solder alloy contg. 50-70wt% Sn. The solder powder and wiry solder of this alloy are solderable in a wide temp. range and have high creep strength at high temp. In addition, when stainless steel pipes are joined with this alloy, the voids of the joined part is considerably lowered in the soldering temp. range of about 190- about 300 deg.C.
