Abstract
PURPOSE:To perform desiliconization treatment at low costs by adding steel making slag to molten iron in a blast furnace hearth and blowing gaseous oxygen prior to carrying out dephosphorization and desulfurization treatments of molten iron. CONSTITUTION:Gaseous oxygen is sprayed to the molten iron which is tapped from a blast furnace and has been removed of blast furnace slag with a skimmer, by using steel making slag, particularly converter slag, in the blast furnace hearth, prior to the desiliconization and desulfurization thereof. Thereby, the desiliconization may be carried out advantageously.
