Abstract
PURPOSE: To improve detection sensitivity regardless of humidity by using In2O3 as a main component and Fe2O3 as the first secondary component with specific oxides such as NiO, etc. and more than one kind selected of platinum as the second secondary component for a gas leakage detection element.
CONSTITUTION: A mixture of 16wt% of In2O3 as a main component and Fe2O3 as the first secondary component containing Fe2O3 representing 5W60wt% of the combined total of the said components is added with oxides such as NiO, V2O5, MnO2, Cr2O3, HfO2, WO3, Nb2O5, La2O3, CeO2, Pr2O3, Sm2O3, Gd2O3, Y2O3, Sc2O3, MgO, SrO, Al2O3, SiO2, GeO2, PdO, PtO, RuO2, CoO, BaO, Ga2O3 and 4W% of more than one kind selected of platinum. After these components are mixed sufficiently, some quantity is take out and a platinum wire electrode is buried. Then the mixture is compression-formed, and is baked at approximately 600W800°C to manufacture a combustible gas detection element. Thus an element of high sensitivity which is less susceptible of the adverse effect of humidity is obtained.
