Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce the charge of transportation, etc., by adding a pulverulent inorganic substance containing an alkaline substance to solid waste containing a synthetic polymer and then by converting the mixture into pulverulent mixed solid matter by heating it at a specific temperature.
CONSTITUTION: To waste containing a synthetic polymer, a pulverulent inorganic substance, such as sand and rebble, and an alkaline substance, such as sodium hydroxide, are added together and the mixture is heated up to a temperature of 120W 450°C and stirred to convert a fused synthetic polymer substance and added inorganic substance into a pulverulent mixed solid substance. In another method, the said pulverulent mixed solid substance is thermally decomposed at a temperature of 350W800°C to collect a hydrocarbon compound (oil component). In this case, vinyl chloride in the waste is decomposed as the temperature rises while hydrogen chloride is produced, bus since it is fixed in a thermal decomposition device, the need for an exhaust gas treatment and desalting and oxidation of the collected hydrocarbon compound is eliminated and the corrosion of the device is evaded.
